Cancer Awareness Night – October 12

No_One_Fights_Alone_JV_2014No One Fights Alone… Olympia Volleyball’s Cancer Awareness Night is Monday, October 12th at their home match against Bellarmine Prep. The players will be wearing shirts the color of the cancer that affects them for warm-ups and the remainder of the evening during the varsity match. Families and friends are encouraged to participate by either ordering shirts as well (link below) or wearing a shirt of similar color. Players will also be collecting donations. For each $1 donation, receive a ticket to the Oly Bear serving contest. Between sets two and three of the Varsity match, ticket holders serve for prizes. Each ticket equals one serve, so the more tickets you have the more chances you have to hit one of the prizes. Prizes include great t-shirts, Dirty Dave’s pizza and more!

All proceeds for this event will go to the American Cancer Society. Last year, our supporters donated just over $660. With your help, we can raise even more this year. Come out and support the cause! JV/C starts at 5:30 pm and Varsity begins at 7:00 pm.

Scavenger Hunt Fun

Here are a few photos from the Olympia Volleyball Scavenger Hunt that took place last Friday. Starting at the Farmer’s Market and finishing at the Water Fountain, it was a race to see which team could complete the most challenges. Photos and video were used as the evidence of completion.

Some challenge examples:
Recite the Oly fight song standing between the “fisherman and logger” on the pier
A picture of everyone high-fiving a big pink crab on a wall
Walk like the Beatles between the Percival landing signs
