6th Grade Volleybears Academy

This is a great opportunity for 6th grade students to improve their skills and develop a better understanding of the game. Our goal is to provide players with instruction and feedback in the fundamental skills of volleyball while promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. All skill levels are welcome!

CLINIC INCLUDES:

  • 12 hours of volleyball instruction from Laurie Creighton and Lauren Herseth
  • Low player to coach ratio
  • Scrimmage at the end of the each session
  • Volleyball “homework” and challenges

Laurie Creighton will enter her 39th season as head coach for the Bears. Creighton is a Washington State Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame inductee, and has taken 22 teams to the State Tournament, including two first place finishes. She uses volleyball to teach important life lessons because she believes young women will be people longer than they will be players.

Lauren Herseth was a four year member of the OHS volleyball program and competed collegiately at Central Washington University. Herseth is currently the assistant coach at Saint Martin’s University and teaches PE at Washington Middle School. Like Creighton, she is passionate about developing young women into people as well as volleyball players.
